Imagine a neighbourhood adventure where local artists proudly open their homes and studios to showcase their artwork. The best part? It's a free event, accessible to everyone. Take a leisurely stroll, meet the talented artists, and marvel at their incredible creations. And if something catches your eye, you can even purchase the art! By supporting local artists, you'll not only acquire stunning pieces but also discover more about the charming coastal town of Worthing. So grab a map, dive into the trail, and get ready for an artsy and fun-filled experience!
A Showcase of Creativity
This year, I'll be sharing my captivating paintings, while Alex will display his masterfully crafted wood-turned creations. If the weather permits, we'll even extend our home gallery into the garden. And don't forget to say hello to our adorable dog, Missy!
Volunteers Behind the Scenes
The Worthing Artist Open Houses, also known as WAOH, owes its success to dedicated volunteers. I feel honoured to have been invited to join the team this year, although they've taken care of most of the hard work while I settle in. However, I had the pleasure of designing the map cover, infusing it with an inviting and friendly design.
Meeting Artists
One of the most exciting aspects of the trail is the opportunity to meet both established artists and those showcasing their work for the first time. From paintings to ceramics, carving to woodturning, sewn crafts to jewelry making, our town boasts a wide range of artistic skills. This diversity ensures there's something for everyone to enjoy and appreciate.
Building Community Connections
For me personally, I love that the trail allows me to meet my neighbours. When I first moved to Worthing, I didn't know anyone. However, in 2019, I took the leap and opened my doors during the art trail. Through this experience, I had the pleasure of meeting incredible people (hello Roz).
